Dermal Fillers

Dr. Angelo Tsirbas specialises in using dermal fillers to improve his patients' skin’s appearance in Sydney, Mildura, Brisbane and Nowra. Dermal filler, known as Juvederm®, is injected into the skin to ease and smooth out the appearance of frown lines, forehead furrows, crow’s feet, lip (smoker) lines, and dimples in the skin, by literally filling in or plumping up the static wrinkles and folds that are present at rest. Dr. Tsirbas also injects dermal filler into the cheeks to enhance cheek  volume and definition, into the neck to enhance chin definition, and behind the eyeballs to rectify deep sunken eyes. The injectable gel acts as a skin “filler” to gently restore structure and volume to the skin. This treatment work sparticularly well on fine, thick and deep lines.

The Procedure:  If possible, remove all makeup before the treatment.  If desired, a cream may be applied for 15 minutes to numb the area first. Dermal Filler is injected directly into the skin using the finest needles.

Length of time: The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes in a procedure room chair.

Recovery time: Patients may go home or straight to work immediately after treatment, however, oil based make up or moisturisers should not be used for the first 48 hours and the treated areas should not be touched with unwashed hands post treatment.  Any redness or crusts should settle in 24 to 48 hours and any bruising which should occur will resolve in a few days.

Anaesthetic: A local anaesthetic maybe injected into the area but for most patients a numbing cream is sufficient; most people describe the feeling as a small sting lasting a few seconds.

Results: Improvement is immediate although a second top up treatment may be necessary.

How long the results will last: The effects last approximately six months, although, can last much longer depending on the area injected and individual skin type of the patient. A booster or top up treatment is advisable every 6 to 12 months with a dermal filler treatment.

Risks: As with all procedures there are certain minimal risks to consider with dermal fillers including a risk of allergic reaction to the filler compounded by the fact that once injected, the treatment cannot be reversed until the effects have worn off. Allergy tests may be necessary to reduce the chance of this occurring.  If you experience cold sores, then there may be a recurrence of them after treatment, although the chance of this can be minimised by the use of antiviral medicines. There is also a slight risk of longer-lasting bruising to the treated area. Rare side effects may include tissue hardening and lumps or bumps around the treatment site.

Cost: From $800 for 1 area

Other procedures to consider: Dr. Angelo Tsirbas performs a wide range of procedures which will enhance the softness of your skin, and help eliminate those unsightly lines:
